Anti-wrinkle Injections

Anti-wrinkle injections are a quick and affordable, non-invasive way of reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

They are used  to ease and soften the appearance of existing fine lines and wrinkles, or as a preventative measure to help reduce the expression lines that form when your face move.  This prevents deep, static wrinkles from forming over time.

How does it work?

Anti-wrinkle injections work by blocking nerve impulses to the muscles, causing the muscles to relax.  This puts less stress on the skin and helps maintain a fresh youthful and more radiant appearance.

Image (2)

How long do they last?

Anti-wrinkle injections will deliver results from around 3-14 days after treatment and last around 3 – 4 months although this varies from person to person.
Anti-wrinkle injections are most commonly used for forehead creases, frown lines and crows feet, relax laughter lines, correct gummy smiles and reduce the appearance of peri-oral lines (also known as smokers lines/pucker lines).
Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used for non-cosmetic reasons – such as masseter reduction of the jaw, in order to prevent teeth grinding and smoothing out of the jawline.  They are also effectively used for treatment of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

Anti-wrinkle injections are a prescription only medication and therefore a consultation is required prior to treatment.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are substances which are injected into areas of the face to add volume or to fill lines and wrinkles.  They are commonly used in the lips to plump and add volume or to smooth out the appearance of peri-oral lines.  However, dermal fillers can also add volume and fullness back to the cheeks and chin and to smooth out wrinkles of the lower face, such as marionette lines and nasolabial folds (the lines from nose to corners of the mouth).
As we age, the fat pads within our faces and supply of collagen and hyaluronic acid naturally dimmish causing lines and wrinkles to appear more apparent.  Dermal fillers can be used to plump and add fullness to these areas which can smooth these lines and give a more youthful, fresh appearance.

What are dermal fillers made of?

In the UK most dermal fillers are made using a natural substance called hyaluronic acid.

Image (8)

How long do they last?

Fillers are not permanent and last between 6-18 months, depending on the area being treated, the brand of filler and how quickly each person’s body absorbs the substance.  There are many different types of dermal fillers, here at The Cairngorm Aesthetics Clinic, only premium quality dermal fillers are used.

Are fillers painful?

You will be offered topical anaesthetic cream to apply prior to lip procedures.  The dermal fillers used also contain lidocaine (anaesthetic) which eases discomfort during treatment.

Treatment areas offered:

Lips, cheeks, chin, marionette lines and nasolabial folds.

CONSULTATION

It is crucial to have a consultation prior to any anti-wrinkle or dermal filler procedure.  Here at The Cairngorm Aesthetic Clinic, a consultation is free, with no obligation or pressure to go ahead with any treatment.  A consultation is so important for you to describe the aim is of having the treatment carried out, what look you wish to achieve and ask any questions relating to treatment or aftercare.  This ensures that any treatment is exactly what you have asked for and allows me, the practitioner, to plan treatments which are exactly right for you.

FOLLOW UP

Written after care advice will be given following treatment.  I ask clients to attend 2 weeks following treatment for a follow up, to ensure that all treatment results are perfect.

PROFHILO

What is it?

PROFHILO is a revolutionary bio remodelling treatment which is especially effective for targeting areas of skin prone to skin laxity, it boosts hydration and remodels aging and sagging skin tissue. This includes the face, neck and décolletage.

PROFHILO Body can also be used on sagging skin on the arms and abdomen.

PROFHILO has one of the highest concentrations of 100% hyaluronic acid on the market. It uses patented Nahyco technology which increases the stability of hyaluronic acid, making it stand apart from ‘skin boosters’.

Image (15)

What does it do?

This product is injected into the skin and distributes itself to boost overall complexion rather than staying in one area where it is injected. The slow release of hyaluronic acid stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, improving hydration in the deeper layers of the skin. Results include the improvement in skin tone, hydration, firmness and the reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

As well as improving the current condition of your skin, the bio-remodelling effect can be likened to future proofing your skin. Fighting against the inevitable decline in collagen which occurs with age.

Who is suitable for Profhilo?

PROFHILO is used by patients of all ages and is perfect if you are looking for a healthy, hydrating boost of your skin but are not keen to have antiwrinkle treatment or dermal fillers. If you already use antiwrinkle treatments or dermal fillers, PROFHILO can safely be used alongside these products and can really enhance the results of these treatments.

Two treatments are required initially. These are given 4 weeks apart and it is recommended that you have further treatment every 6 months.
